Provenance

I grew up on a farm in Papakaio, just outside Oamaru, and learned early how much care goes into good food. That's carried through to our family: my husband Suneil works in food distribution and governs two food charities, KiwiHarvest and New Zealand Food Network. In our house, food is something we're deeply connected to.

Born in My Kitchen

Real Deal Foods started on my second maternity leave, making nut-free snacks for my boys' kindy lunchboxes while studying nutrition. Seeds like hemp, sunflower, pumpkin and chia kept coming up. They're incredibly nutrient dense, yet hardly anyone was making them easy or delicious. So I started experimenting, and the feedback kept coming: can I get more of those?

Real Food for Real Life

Today, from bliss balls to overnight oats, baking mixes and our Just Add Water range, Real Deal Foods is about everyday food that's convenient without cutting corners, and delicious because eating well should be something to enjoy.
